“The candidates we get through Welcome to the Jungle are really varied, from Engineering through to Finance. 60% of applications we've had through Welcome to the Jungle have been from women. 60% are from ethnic minority groups.”,
Louise Hughes, Head of Talent at accuRx
accuRx, the healthcare software provider, is on a mission to bring patients and their healthcare teams together, to make patients healthier and staff happier. accuRx combines SMS, video consultations, and the ability to send documents and photos between medical practitioners and their patients, with the capability to save these communications to the patient record.
Most recently, they have been supporting the COVID-19 vaccination campaign in the UK by helping facilitate appointments at vaccine centres around the country.
accuRx made 30 hires in their first year on Welcome to the Jungle across all teams in the business, including software engineers, product managers and senior members of the team.
The accuRx team loves how engaged the candidates are that they get through Welcome to the Jungle, as well as the fact people are laser-focused on wanting to work at growing mission-led companies.
“The candidates that come through the platform are always really engaged with accuRx and put a lot of effort into their answers to our application questions!
Most candidates are really excited to work in a fast-paced growing start-up environment and are looking to be part of a culture that fosters collaboration and teamwork.”

The accuRx team
One of the areas where Welcome to the Jungle stood out was the diversity of candidates on the platform. Welcome to the Jungle attracts lots of candidates from backgrounds that are typically underrepresented in tech, because we've thought deeply about what these candidates care about.
For example, we encourage companies to talk about how they approach diversity, equity & inclusion, and we share the gender split at the companies we have on the platform.

Katie Halfhead, Head of Communications at accuRx
“I created a profile in Welcome to the Jungle last year before I was actively looking for a new role. I really liked the personalisation on Welcome to the Jungle and it was useful to be alerted to relevant job opportunities, rather than endlessly scrolling.
When the hiring manager at accuRx reached out earlier this year, it sounded like the perfect opportunity for me and I was excited about the interview process.”
Katie Halfhead, Head of Communications at accuRx
Katie loves how collaborative and values-led accuRx is as an organisation.
“I've been blown away by how welcoming the team has been and how much time everyone is willing to spend bringing new joiners up to speed. We're growing quickly and there's a real sense of teamwork and collaboration.
We really focus on being a values fit throughout the interview process and that means that everyone at accuRx is really driven by working collaboratively to make a big impact on how healthcare is delivered.”
Katie Halfhead, Head of Communications at accuRx
accuRx's mission is already enabling them to have a huge impact, and this will only grow as they progress.
“We've made a huge difference to the way healthcare is delivered in general practice, enabling GPs and their teams to communicate with patients via asynchronous messaging.
This has brought a lot of efficiencies that enable GPs to spend more of their time caring for patients.
We're now working to solve the communication issues that exist across the healthcare system. I'm really excited about the impact it will have on patient care.”
